Song Builder Series

1 - anatomy of a pop song

The Song Builder Series is designed to show beginners the basics of song creation.  Anatomy of a pop song combines music theory, appreciation and technology to introduce students to the terminology and structure of writing popular songs.

2 - Creating the Music

The basis of this presentation is to introduce students to loop based music software. Using Apple's "Garageband" ™ we begin working with loops. During the presentation we will continue our song analysis, discuss terminology, and build several songs together.

3 - Intro to Audio Editing

Take music creation one step further. Using 's "Audacity" ™ we review the basics of audio editing and loop creation. Students will get an overview of editing audio and an introduction to recording, using software and hardware that is affordable and readily available.

Each seminar is 2 hours in length.  No prerequisites.

Intro to Music Technology

Recording 101

Our Audio program is a “Jump Start” in the Audio world.  Classes are once a week for 2.5 - 3 hours and the course runs a semester in length (12 weeks).

A student will receive the basic know-how and hands-on experience about Recording, Mixing, Microphone placement, Effect processing, and more! Learn the basics of audio engineering with the powerhouse software "Pro Tools" and get started on the path to your new career or hobby!

  • Want to get into a studio and intern while training?

Intern while learning. Students will also sit in with the engineers on live sessions to reinforce the concepts from the classes.

PT Boot Camp

Pro Tools Boot Camp gets you up and running fast! 10 hours of training time is broken up into 4 classes. We work with you to customize the class and assignments to match your needs. Take your knowledge to the next level and advance your Pro Tools skills with editing features, Plug-ins, and more!

Specialized Training and consulting

We also offer independent training and lab time. If our structured course doesn't fit your needs contact us about specializing a training class just for you or have us come to you and learn with your own gear in your own studio.

Working with musicians

preampsWork with musicians and instructors to capture their sound. Learn about the basics of microphones, mic placement,Pro Tools session setups,overdubs,punching in, studio etiquette and more. (4 hours)

Creating the Mix

Making that hit song

Students will work on the songs recorded in the Audio Recording class and learn how to create the “Final Mix”. Now that the musicians are done its time for the engineers to do their magic!  (4 hours)
